Alice "akjy" is a Chinese-American producer, songwriter, and sound designer.She works within the sphere of electronic music and sound design and graduated summa cum laude from Berklee College of Music with a degree in Electronic Production & Design (EPD). She specializes in production and songwriting in conjunction with DSP-related sound design and is keen for opportunities that allow her to exercise her skill and capability.As Alice has an aptitude for and interest in various forms of art, she believes that they can be intertwined and collaborate with one another.
Alice's musical journey began with playing piano around age 3.
Long before venturing into the world of music production in college, she went on to learn viola/violin, guitar, and singing. Alice has always been a curious individual and picked up other hobbies as well, including art and photography. For a time, she didn't intend to study music post-high school, but discovering Berklee opened up a whole new world for her.Alice's music is mainly electronic-based, but there is no single word to define her genre, as she holds no reservations towards versatility. Best put, she creates from a personal and emotional space, and the themes in her songs often draw from real life events, people, and feelings. What matters most to Alice in the process of inventing art is retaining a sense of integrity in her own sound in order to stay true to herself and her identity as a creative.Currently, she is working freelance, always writing songs and exploring different ideas. Alice aspires to continue along this path on a professional level and connect with other innovative producers and artists.
